SS39ET Linear Hall-Effect Sensor ICs

Honeywell is extending its Linear Hall-effect Sensor IC line by introducing the new SS39ET Series to the SS49E and SS59ET Series portfolio of low-cost Linear Hall-effect devices for use in Industrial and Medical applications.

These devices are small, versatile linear Hall-effect sensors designed to monitor magnetic fields from a permanent magnet or an electromagnet They respond to both North and South poles, and can be powered with voltages as low as 2.7 V.

With the addition of the new SS39ET Series, the family of products is as follows:
• SS39ET Series: subminiature SOT-23 surface mount package (tape and reel format)
• SS49E Series: leaded flat TO-92 style package (bulk packaging, 1000 units per bag)
• SS49E-T2 Series: straight leads
• SS49E-T3: Series: formed leads on tape in ammopack (fan-fold) format
• SS59ET Series: miniature SOT-89B surface-mount package (tape and reel format)

Value to Customers

• Cost effective:
- Designed and manufactured for cost competitiveness
- All packages can be supplied on tape for automated, lower-cost assembly
• Small: SS39ET’s small footprint takes up less space on the PC board, typically allowing for more components
• Flexible: Interfaces with many electrical components without buffering
• Stable: Thermally balanced integrated circuit for stable operation over a full temperature range

Features and Benefits

• Miniature and subminiature construction: Designed for compact designs with tight space requirements
• Energy efficient: Low current consumption of 6 mA at 5 Vdc
• Easy PC board interface: Single current sourcing output for common electronic circuits
• Circuit design flexibility: Voltage range of 2.7 Vdc to 6.5 Vdc
• Low noise output: Virtually eliminates the need for filtering
• Stable output: Thin film resistors improve accuracy
• Wide range of environments: Temperature range of -40 °C to 100 °C [-40 °F to 212 °F]
• Application flexibility: Responds to either positive or negative Gauss
